If Paris is not on your daysheet, travel there for lunch or dinner via Bistro Bisou. True to its name (bisou - French for soft kiss) this beautiful bistro oozes romance and sexy French passion.
The walls are lined with black and white photos of authentic French scenery.
The lighting, food aroma, and range of wines set the mood for a beautiful, elegant dining experience for family or romantic rendezvous. Headed by Nathalie Cormouls Houles and her two brothers Eric and Jerome, the restaurant has been open now for four months at 9519 South Dixie Highway. But French cuisine is not new to this family. For seven years they have owned and operated the Provence Grill in Downtown Miami, where their Pinecrest clientele prompted them to open a bistro in the French deficient area.
Most of the bistro's employees are direct imports from France, including head chef Patrick Verré
. He prepares delectable specials (not included on the menu) that change daily.
Be sure to try the chefs taste menu on one visit to fully appreciate the range and talent of this culinary artist.
Entree favorites include Confitde Canard, musovy duck confit, mixed greens and choice of lentil or potato, and an exceptional Steak Tartare, raw beef tenderloin tartar, prepared mild or spicy served with French fries and salad.
Also available is Tratelette aux Escargots (yep, snails the French way) saut eed with butter and garlic and an incredibly delicious French onion soup.
Some days they also feature lapin (rabbit) and traditional bouillabaisse. The Petit Fondant, warm chocolate fondant, French vanilla bean ice cream with whipped cream and fresh fruit, creates an unbelievable bevy of tastes that whirl around in your mouth and go straight to your head.
It's a great experience, but don't operate any heavy machinery after trying it.
Dinner may be had inside the restaurant or on the outside patio (useful if one wants to bring a furry friend). Reservations are not needed during the week but are recommended for evening dining on the week-ends. Bistro Bisou is open 11:30 a.m. - 3 p.m. for lunch Mondays to Saturdays, 5 - 10:30 p.m. for dinner during the week, and until 11 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. Only dinner is served on Sundays from 5-10 p.m., but look out for morningbrunch, which is coming soon.
The bistro is also available for catering, in house or on location. For more information or reservations,
